Independent Fourthwall Review
I am neither an affiliate nor being sponsored to write this post.
The platform that has recently captured my attention, thanks (as you may already know) to our lovely site member Martie, is Fourthwall.
After twiddling with its features and functionalities, I'm convinced that FOURTHWALL offers a powerful and versatile solution for creators like us. And here's why!
Fourthwall is FREE (this is always a good start)
What is Fourthwall?
Fourthwall is a platform whereby you can create a fully functional e-commerce store without any upfront costs. This flexibility is crucial for artists, designers, and other creatives who may not have a significant upfront investment for their online ventures. No website hosting fees!
Here is my store - created over the last couple of days. Have a peep so you can see what the heck I am talking about!

What Products Can I add to my Fourthwall site?
Fourthwall's versatility extends to the types of products you can sell. Whether you specialize in physical goods like customized apparel or digital items like graphics packs, FOURTHWALL seamlessly accommodates your offerings. And with regard to digital products unlike some platforms ( ETSY) that impose restrictive file size limits, FOURTHWALL grants you a generous 2GB upload allowance, ensuring you can offer graphics packs! This is something that I find cumbersome via Etsy as the extra workload of sorting out how the customer can access their files is frustrating.
But wait there is more
Beyond product listings, FOURTHWALL enables you to establish memberships, engage your audience through blogs, and utilize a range of other tools to foster a thriving online community. This holistic approach allows you to build a loyal following and develop deeper connections with your customers which as we know can ensure repeat purchases and word-of-mouth referrals.
Foruthwall Website-esque stores
Fourthwall's customizable templates and design tools enable you to craft a unique online space that reflects your personal style and aesthetic. They have a handful of easy-to-customize template 'sites' which within an hour will give you a professional-looking site presence.
You Can Add Your Own Domain Name to your Fourthwall site/store
This was so easy, easier than adding a domain to a website that I have ever experienced to date! It is all automated and pretty much goes live instantly! This seamless process allows you to create a cohesive online presence that aligns with your existing branding efforts.
No Competition on your site from other sellers, Editor's Picks or adverts to competing sites!
How nice after all the frustration with Zazzle, seemingly finding new and creative ways to drive all our hard-won traffic away from us to the products of their 'chosen-few' creatives. How refreshing ... right!
This means that your creative offerings are not directly competing with those of other sellers, eliminating the pressure to conform to market trends or lower prices. Instead, you have the freedom to showcase your unique creations and attract customers who appreciate your distinctive style.
What Are Fourthwall's Fees
FOURTHWALL's pricing structure is transparent and straightforward. There are no monthly fees or upfront costs, and you only pay when you make a sale. For physical products, the cost of the product from the product catalog is deducted from the selling price you set. You keep the entire difference. For digital products and memberships, there is a flat fee of 3% and 5%, respectively.
In addition to these fees, there is a payment processing fee of 2.9% + $0.30 for domestic credit card transactions and 3.9% + $0.30 for international credit card transactions. These fees are standard across the e-commerce industry and are charged by FOURTHWALL's payment processor, Stripe.
